TIME TITLE DESCRIPTION
9 AM Step Aerobics *Step Aerobics:
A craze in the late-eighties, it’s still one of the most fun classes around. After a quick warm-up, the group is taken through a series of dance turns, jumps, and lunges, all choreographed around the step to specialized music. Your legs and butt get a workout along with your heart. The last 10 minutes of class are devoted to strengthening your abdominals and lower back.
Modification: The moves are choreographed – so if you find a move a bit difficult just march in place until you get your bearings and timing. We guarantee that if you hang in there you will learn the moves.
5:15 PM Stability Ball *Stability Ball:
You begin the class with a cardio warm-up. The instructor will then lead you through a variety of balance, core, strength, flexibility, and rehabilitation exercises utilizing the stability ball and dumbbells. Incorporating a stability ball into your fitness, rehabilitation, or sport training program activates and strengthens those hard-to-reach muscles often overlooked in normal training.
Modification: Take it easy by doing less reps and using less weight.
5:45 PM Aqua Tai Chi *Aqua Tai Chi:
Tai chi is a Chinese exercise system that uses slow, smooth body movements to achieve a state of relaxation of both body and mind. If done regularly, it improves muscle tone, flexibility, balance, and coordination. These movements will receive the added resistance of water.
Modification: Work at your own pace. Swim goggles and swim shoes are optional.
6:30 PM Zumba *Zumba:
A Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates international music, creating a dynamic, exciting, exhilarating, and effective fitness system. A ZUMBA class combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic/fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits. Dancers and non-dancers alike will be able to integrate the basic principles of aerobic, interval, and resistance training to maximize caloric output, cardiovascular benefits and total body toning.
Modification: Work at your pace. Participants of any fitness level, from any background, and of any age can start the program right away. The program’s basic steps formula makes it easy for everyone.
